A Christmas Gift for You brings holiday standards into the dense, exuberant sound of early-1960s pop. Bells, percussion, strings and layered vocals fill the arrangements without losing the strong melodies underneath. The different singers give the sequence character, while Darlene Love's 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' provides a particularly forceful emotional center.
