Experience a groundbreaking fusion of experimental metal and avant-garde poetry with Sumac and Moor Mother – The Film. Released on April 25, 2025, via Thrill Jockey, this collaborative album reimagines the traditional concept of a music album, presenting itself as a cinematic journey. The project blends Sumac's intense, jazz-infused metal with Moor Mother's powerful spoken word and electronic textures, creating a unique auditory experience that challenges conventional genre boundaries. The Film is more than just an album; it's a narrative exploration of universal themes such as land, displacement, climate change, human rights, and the struggles against oppressive systems.
