Brand New Eyes puts Paramore's emotional tension into sharply defined guitar parts and choruses that open out at just the right moment. The heavier songs have a pointed, restless energy, while the quieter passages give Hayley Williams' voice more space. That contrast helps the album feel cohesive without keeping every song at the same intensity.
