Incesticide draws a jagged map of Nirvana's interests beyond their best-known studio albums. Heavy, off-center originals sit beside fast, scrappy covers and radio-session performances, exposing the band's affection for underground pop as clearly as its appetite for noise. Kurt Cobain's melodic instincts hold the collection together through abrupt changes in texture and intensity.
