The underground hip-hop innovator's return to a solo full-length, released by Backwoodz Studioz.
Primarily produced by Ladd, with finishing contributions from Preservation.
Features collaborations with No Surrender and Tom De Geeter; Northern Lights is a green/blue vinyl mixture.
Nonechosen reconnects Mike Ladd's boundary-pushing rap with the present, pairing dense writing with production that leaves room for noise, atmosphere, and unexpected turns. Ladd built most of the record himself before bringing Preservation into its final stages. Longtime collaborators help widen the palette, but the focus remains his voice and perspective: a veteran experimentalist making a substantial new statement rather than revisiting an old formula.
