Instrumental work drawing from jazz, country, and '50s exotica.
For fans of: instrumental jazz, exotica, and guitar music.
Houston guitarist Kelly Doyle returns with Thieves, a vivid, genre-defying instrumental album that plays like a film score for a movie that doesn't exist, but should. The record shifts effortlessly between ambient jazz, psychedelic exotica, and noirish Western motifs.
Recorded and mixed by Steve Christensen (Khruangbin, Steve Earle), the album’s raw, spacious sonics allow each track to breathe, expand, and evolve—letting personality and tension seep through every note. This is music for late drives, strange dreams, and the clarity that sometimes follows chaos.
