Includes "Mind Games," "Out the Blue" and "Bring on the Lucie (Freda Peeple)."
Layered pop-rock arrangements frame reflective writing and strong melodic hooks.
For fans of: George Harrison, Harry Nilsson, Paul McCartney
Mind Games gives Lennon's melodies a fuller instrumental setting, with keyboards, guitars and backing voices building color around the songs. The record moves between broad declarations and more intimate writing, allowing changes in vocal delivery to define the mood. Its strongest moments connect a clear melodic line with small, expressive details in the phrasing and arrangement.
