Billy Joel “The Hits” CD

• Piano-led songwriting spanning character pieces, ballads and rock singles.

The Hits puts Billy Joel's melodic range and storytelling instincts in close succession. Piano ballads, restless character sketches and tightly arranged rock songs show different sides of the same writer, with his conversational singing holding the sequence together. The collection makes room for both the broad singalong choruses and the smaller details that give the songs their settings.
