Includes "Nightmare," "Buried Alive" and "Welcome to the Family."
Heavy riffing and intricate lead guitar alternate with expansive, melodic passages.
For fans of: Trivium, Stone Sour, Bullet for My Valentine
Nightmare gives Avenged Sevenfold's elaborate writing a darker, more reflective atmosphere. The heavier songs depend on tightly connected riffs and drums, while longer pieces let melodies gather weight across changing sections. M. Shadows' voice moves between force and exposure, making the quieter passages feel central to the record's emotional character rather than pauses between louder performances.
