Thelonious MONK “Brilliant Corners” LP

Brilliant Corners puts the focus on angular piano voicings, deceptive swing, unusual melodic shapes, and some of modern jazz's most durable compositions.

• Monk is joined by Sonny Rollins, Ernie Henry, Oscar Pettiford, and Max Roach on music famous for its angular melodies and difficult structures.
• The title composition was so demanding that the master had to be assembled from multiple takes.
• The record is one of Monk's defining Riverside albums and a high point of 1950s modern jazz composition.

For fans of Bud Powell, Sonny Rollins, and John Coltrane.
