The Cincinnati trio's third album brings its dark synth-punk to Trouble In Mind.
Machine rhythms, abrasive guitars, and cold synthesizer melodies connect post-punk with industrial dance music.
Features "Cheap Chrome," "Club Deuce," and "Order Imposing Sentence."
For fans of: Total Control, Cabaret Voltaire, Suicide, and Cold Beat.
Half Eaten by Dogs gives The Serfs' shadowy electronics a sharper physical presence. Dylan McCartney, Dakota Carlyle, and Andie Luman assemble insistent rhythms, brittle guitar figures, and synth lines that flicker between menace and melody. The songs retain a rough underground edge while offering plenty of movement and hooks.
"Cheap Chrome" strips the pulse down to its essentials, and "Club Deuce" stretches into a low-slung dance-floor groove. Saxophone, harmonica, and other acoustic colors appear inside the electronic framework, adding strange flashes of warmth. It is a cohesive collection for listeners drawn to the overlap between punk abrasion and nocturnal club music.
