The Doors “The Future Starts Here: The Essential Doors Hits” CD

• 2008 compilation collecting twenty Doors recordings.
• Includes 'Light My Fire,' 'Riders on the Storm' and 'Break on Through.'
• Also features 'People Are Strange,' 'L.A. Woman' and 'Love Me Two Times.'

For fans of: The Animals, The Velvet Underground, Jefferson Airplane

This collection places the Doors' concise singles beside songs that reveal more of their blues and psychedelic character. Ray Manzarek's keyboards and Robby Krieger's guitar give the arrangements a distinctive conversation around Jim Morrison's vocals. The sequence shows how readily the band could move between tightly framed pop hooks and a more spacious, unsettled atmosphere.
