They came from some of the most popular, if not polarizing hardcore bands of the early '90s (SHELTER, 108, RESSURECTION), but by the time TEXAS IS THE REASON formed in 1994, a new aesthetic crystallized almost instantly. It was only a year later, when Revelation Records released the band's self-titled EP - their name derived from a lyric in the MISFITS song "Bullet" - that TEXAS IS THE REASON were already headlining their own tours in America and well on their way to defining a new moment in post-punk.

TEXAS IS THE REASON's self-titled TX30 Special Edition 12" EP is the first of three upcoming releases marking the 30th anniversary of the band and its landmark album, Do You Know Who You Are?. It includes the bonus track "Something to Forget (Version I)" originally released in 1995 on a limited split 7" with SAMUEL. These TX30 Special Edition pressings chart the band's three chronological stages across three intentionally-prepared 12-inch records - each with expanded art and booklets featuring never-before-seen photos, flyers, and joined by specially designed obi strips devised to create a visually cohesive set.
