Sophie Allison's early Soccer Mommy collection originally appeared on Orchid Tapes in 2016.
Eight home-recorded songs introduce her candid writing, melodic guitar work, and close-up vocal delivery.
Includes "Henry," "Inside Out," "Grown," and "Wildflowers."
For fans of: Snail Mail, early Liz Phair, and intimate bedroom indie rock.
For Young Hearts captures Soccer Mommy before the larger productions of her later albums, with songs that keep the emotional focus close. Sophie Allison pairs memorable guitar figures with direct observations about attachment, disappointment, and growing into oneself. The modest recording scale gives the performances a particularly immediate character.
The collection already reveals the melodic strength and clear-eyed perspective that would become central to her work. Songs such as "Henry" and "Inside Out" feel personal without sacrificing their hooks, making this an inviting introduction to her earliest material. Fat Possum's pink-vinyl anniversary edition revisits a key starting point in the Soccer Mommy catalog.
