• When Nachtmystium released "The World We Left Behind" in 2014, the album received quite a lot of flak.
• Most of that had to do with the descent of the band's mastermind, Blake Judd, into a hard addiction to heroin that had started to grow years earlier out of opioid prescription and general drug abuse.
• And while the black metal scene has been quite forgiving of murder, arson, political extremism, and other crimes (after time was served and the culprits rehabilitated), being ill and an addict seems unforgivable to some.
