Minor Threat’s 1983 EP expands the band’s fast, direct hardcore with longer arrangements and sharper shifts in dynamics.
The five-piece lineup adds Steve Hansgen on bass as Brian Baker joins Lyle Preslar on guitar.
Includes “Betray,” “Think Again,” “Look Back & Laugh,” and the title track.

Out of Step gives Minor Threat’s hardcore attack more room to breathe without losing its urgency. Two guitars thicken the riffs, and the songs move through sudden stops, tense buildups, and shouted releases. Ian MacKaye tackles betrayal, personal responsibility, and the pressure to fit in with the same blunt force that drives the music.
