Emerging from Choking Victim in the late 1990s, Leftöver Crack became known for their uncompromising fusion of crust punk, hardcore, ska, and politically charged lyrics. Led by frontman Scott Sturgeon, the band openly positions itself against capitalism, racism, religion, and state power, turning their music into a radical voice within the punk scene. Released in 2001 on Hellcat Records, Mediocre Generica marked the band's first full-length studio album. Musically, the record showcases remarkable diversity, blending aggressive hardcore, dark crust-driven passages, danceable ska sections, and anthemic choruses. Today, Mediocre Generica is regarded as one of Leftöver Crack's most important releases: uncompromising, politically radical, and musically diverse -- a manifesto against war, oppression, and state control.
