KISS' debut keeps the arrangements lean enough for the songs' rhythmic details to stand out. Guitar figures and vocal responses lock into a rock-and-roll pulse, giving the familiar choruses a rough, lively edge. The different singing voices add character across the sequence, while the band's emphasis on clear hooks makes the album feel immediate without needing elaborate studio decoration.
