John Coltrane “A Love Supreme” (Black SWIRLS Vinyl) LP

A Love Supreme puts the focus on tenor and soprano saxophone, modal development, harmonic intensity, and spiritual searching.

• Coltrane's classic quartet of McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones turns the record into a four-part spiritual suite.
• The recurring four-note motif in “Acknowledgement” anchors a performance that moves from meditative repetition to intense improvisation.
• It is widely regarded as one of Coltrane's central works and one of the landmark albums in modern jazz.

For fans of Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner, and Pharoah Sanders.
