Billie Holiday “Hits” (DELUXE GATEFOLD EDITION, 180g/VIRGIN Vinyl) LP

Hits puts the focus on vocal jazz built on behind-the-beat phrasing, blues feeling, and close attention to lyric meaning.

• This collection emphasizes the parts of Billie Holiday's catalog that made the biggest musical impact rather than functioning as a single-session studio album.
• The sequencing gives listeners a broad view of Billie Holiday's phrasing, tone, and stylistic range across well-known repertoire.
• It works best as a survey for listeners who want major performances gathered in one place.

For fans of Lester Young, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughan.
